Arrow’s Story

In 1998 with the formation of SIS Strategic Information Systems. Bruce Burman and Lyndon Lobo, the company’s founders, recognized a longstanding lack of hardware and software options for Alberta’s First Nations, Métis and rural communities. In 2005, the company expanded to provide residential and business Broadband services to these underserviced areas. Arrow came to be in 2012 following a partnership agreement between SIS and First Nation Technology Services Advisory Group Inc. Arrow grew to be one of the largest First Nations-led companies is Alberta.

Following the partnership, Arrow began providing fiber optic connections in order to better service their towers and business customers. Since 2015, over 500km of fibre infrastructure has been placed to meet customer needs for high speed service.

Arrow now provides broadband services to 73 communities across Alberta, 49 of which are First Nations communities or Metis Settlements and 24 of which are rural towns. Arrow remains committed to providing managed IT services for all our communities.

Our Partnership

First Nations Technical Advisory Group (TSAG) acquired 51% of our original company Strategic Information Systems (SIS) when TSAG and SIS partnered in May 2012.

This move created a name change to ATG Arrow Technology Group Limited Partnership (Arrow) and more importantly it combined our complementary strengths, diverse networks and shared missions, to create a larger, stronger, more technically diversified company with a broad array of products and services. Our companies are now better positioned to grow and provide greater value to our respective customer base. We do this by expanding technology, gateway, wireless and fiber services.
